Bomi saw his puzzled expression and paused. Royals probably don’t inquire about things like that, do they? Royals were pretty… Superficial, anyway.
In her opinion.Deciding to keep her act up, she was about to shoot back at Daehyun until he’d suddenly grabbed her hand and towed her back in the direction they’d come. Making a face at the blonde, she pulled her hand away from his. She wasn’t the sort to come into contact with people easily. She blamed that on her insecurity. But Bomi being Bomi, she didn’t show it, of course. ” I was just… walking about. Yep.”Tapping on his shoulder, she inquired, “Hey, Daehyun right? Where are we going? My quarters are there-” She pointed in the opposite direction, only to abruptly retract her hand. No stupid, that’s bodyguard Bomi’s quarters, not Princess Bomi. Suppressing her laughter, she shrugged, smiling. “Yep, let’s just head wherever you’re heading~”
Daehyun watched Bomi’s face while she went silent, watching her from his peripherals while he tugged her through the halls. She was hiding something, and it wasn’t in the case that he had with Hayoung. She was fiery and calculative, and it left the poor guard confused on whether to just force an answer out of the woman or now. To be honest, he didn’t really think he needed to know who she was. I just want to know why she’s he— Daehyun’s thoughts were cut off when Bomi tore her hand away from his. “.. Who walks about into the bodyguard’s quarters..?”
He shot her a small glare. She was pointing toward where people, well, anyone who wasn’t a royal would be. The pieces came together now— Bomi wasn’t a royal. “Oh, okay. I was planning on taking you back to your quarters, princess.” Daehyun’s tone was dripping with sarcasm, yet his face remained neutral as he gestured for the woman to lead the way.

She laughed quietly under her breath at the image in her head but she was too tired to laugh any louder. “Waaaaaait~ So I bounce from foot to foot?” She tilted her head to the side and demonstrated by jumping ahead slightly before landing on her left foot. Then she jumped ahead to land on her right foot. “Am I doing it right~?” She knew she was making a fool of herself but she honestly didn’t mind…well… Her sleepy side didn’t mind. I have a feeling I will be thoroughly embarrassed the next time I see him.
“Eventually you will be the king of silliness in all of your silly glory. I know~!” She clapped happily at the thought. “So you’ll never be a stoic, emotionless man in my eyes.” She rolled her eyes when he said why she should be an inspirational speaker. “Why would anyone want to be a hyper mouse like me when on coffee? It’s tiring~” To show her point, she playfully stumbled into his side but then she yawned and stayed there, leaning against him slightly.
Suddenly she blinked when she heard him ask why they couldn’t take a cab. She wanted to whine and throw a little temper tantrum. Oh god I knew I shouldn’t have had coffee… I get whiny when I’m sleepy. “No cab~” She started whining playfully and pouted at him. “We walked there and we can walk back.”
“Mmm.” Daehyun nodded meekly and expected another slap on the arm or a mini lecture, but instead saw Soyeon start bouncing around. Is she.. Is she drunk? He thought and blinked in bewilderment. “Am I doing it right~?” Her question only left Daehyun to chortle violently behind his hand. ”Ah, y-yes, sure. You’re doing it right,” He stammered and tried to sound innocent. “… Soyeon-ssi, you look like an intoxicated penguin.”
“That doesn’t mean the next time you’ll see me in a clown outfit, does it?” He gasped in horror, his wide grin never fading. He shook his head stubbornly when Soyeon disagreed with him. “I am! You just have to wake up me really early, and you’ll see what I mean by stoic and emotionless.” Daehyun was considering walking ahead of the princess as a joke, but was relieved that he didn’t make the decision when the woman leaned against him. “I doubt that you’d be as tired as you are if we weren’t at the beach. Plenty of kids would like to be insanely energetic I bet.”
The guard’s eyes widened in fear. For a moment he thought that Soyeon would explode at him. He chuckled at her cute display and nodded. “If you get too tired at one point, we’re getting a cab, arasseo?”
Augh, no no no no no. This boy was too fast. Running wasn’t an option. She thought as she ran up the flight of stairs, two steps at a time. Bomi could hear the door creak open once she’d started making her way up; which meant this blondie had nearly as quick reflexes as she did. Stupid girl. Whose idea was it to be some royalty? She spat under her breath as she felt someone grab at her shoulder. “That’s it - game over, princess.” The bodyguard declared as Bomi came to an awkward halt, causing him to bump into her. Lie, lie come to me head now. Imitating the airs of royalty the best way she could, she turned to face him, crossing her arms. “Are you actually a bodyguard? Because if I didn’t remember wrongly, bodyguards are supposed to introduce themselves as bodyguards before approaching a royal. It’s rule number 74 in your bodyguard guidebook; just in case you’ve decided to clean forget it.” She smirked as a tinge of shock flashed across his face. Deep down inside, Bomi heaved a great sigh of relief. Listening to those excruciatingly boring briefings actually came to good use.
Daehyun let out a sigh of relief. Thank god that Bomi didn’t run off again. He didn’t even know where the girl was headed, let alone where they currently were. He blinked at her snappy reply. He was anticipating a talkative, happy princess, not the woman he was staring at. “Are you actually a bodyguard?” She queried, leaving the blonde speechless and confused. Daehyun wasn’t used to people like this. He was used to kiss-ups and fake smiles.
It entertained him to no end, and he suddenly smiled when she attempted to reprimand him. “Yes, you’re right.” Daehyun admitted and bowed respectfully to the Bomi. “I’m Jung Daehyun.” He took her hand and started to tug her back in the direction that they came from, so he could get her back to the royal’s quarters. “Why are you here?” And why do you know the rules of a bodyguard..?

Soyeon laughed when she heard him mumble about it sounding like typical drama. It sounded normal to hear things like that from him and hearing him call it typical drama made her believe it. “Maybe it is just typical drama.” She groaned softly and looked at him. “Alright. Little Miss Sunshine here has a lot of vibes. What kind of vibes?” Might as well hear something entertaining before I crash.
“I’m silly. You’re silly. We’re both silly. I’ll find proof eventually.” She nodded in determination and watched him scowl. Giggling softly before jumping when he hissed. Damn.. he scared me! She watched as he continued to pick at his arms. Not understanding why he was doing that, she just looked away. Then she blinked in amusement as he clapped after her short talk. She smiled slightly and raised an eyebrow, amused by how playful he was now. Is he getting tired and acts this playful then? “I’ve never thought about it. I probably wouldn’t do something like that.”
Walking slower, she watched as he slowed down to walk alongside her. “Ha, I’ll carry you if you faint. I’m just wondering if you wanted a cab to get back.” She laughed quietly and yawned once more. “Well I will… try my best not to faint before we reach the castle. But no cab.”
“Y’know what I’m talking about, right? The ones where the guy runs in slow motion when he could just run after the walking girl?” Daehyun inquired with raised brows, yet tired eyes. “Honestly, there’s like this light around you. You even walk with that little bounce after every step, like a kid. I think you give off an overall exuberant vibe.” The guard explained with random hand motions and, at one point spoke in a lazy slur while he yawned.
“Eventually. Eventually, Soyeon-ssi.”The blonde emphasized with a cheeky smile, then posed dramatically and stared at nothing in particular. “As for now, I’m a very stoic, emotionless man.” It took him a moment to figure out what bugged Soyeon. Looking at his arm, then back to Soyeon, then back to his hand that picked at the skin, he finally withdrew his hand and went back to wringing the water out of his clothes. Daehyun shot Soyeon an entertained grin. “You can inspire people to be more confident. And to be mice. That drink coffee.”
Daehyun nodded and smiled in silent laughter. “You sure? Why not cab, even if you’re tired?
As soon as Jeongmin heard those words, his cheeks turned bright red. “…Yah. That’s a lie.” he coldly said. “Pfft…as if I don’t even talk about Kwangmin.” the prince angrily thought. “I don’t want to though.” Jeongmin giggled and hid his phone away from view.
Daehyun smirked, easily seeing through the facade of his old friend. “I don’t lie.” He shrugged nonchalantly and shrugged off the icy tone of Jeongmin’s voice. Glancing his way, the guard placed a discreet hand over his mouth to hold back a little laughter when he saw Jeongmin’s fiery expression. His expression reverted back to being serious when the prince disagreed. “Delete it, Jeong!”
She blinked and raised an eyebrow slightly before looking back at the couple as well. “Maybe.. Maybe he said his.. Um, sister’s.. name?” She shook her head in pure amusement. Daehyun doesn’t know much about women. “She wouldn’t get that upset by being called his sister’s name. But if it were her sister’s name… that’s another story.” Now he’s thinking… why do we switch on and off with this kind of thing?
“Not odd things, silly things. You’re the king of silliness.” Soyeon simply grinned at him and shrugged. “That’s what I’ve been thinking about. Your nickname. King of Silliness.” She turned away when she noticed him picking at his sunburn. Never had she liked sunburns. Her childhood had been filled with them because she was always helping in the garden and with the animals, playing with the children too. “Why don’t I care what other people think? Because people will always have their own opinion about something you do or say or wear.” She looked up at him before focusing on the road ahead of them. “Why worry about what they think when you did what you wanted to for your own reason? As long as you’re okay with what you did, nothing else should matter. You shouldn’t have to explain yourself or try to make people change their opinions about you. It’ll be a struggle and too much work, trying to make everyone happy.”
Soyeon yawned behind her hand again. Seems like three shots was too much this time around. Being extra hyper tired her out to the extreme and she already felt dead on her feet. “Are you sure you want to walk, or…?” She blinked confused and looked at Daehyun. “Walk or what? You’re going to carry me?” She shook her head and kept walking, slower than normal though. “I don’t want you to have to do that.”
The guard’s head dropped in shame. Something was telling him that he said something either completely stupid, or just plain naive, especially with the way that Soyeon just shook her head. Chuckling, Daehyun’s brows raised in amusement. “Sounds like a typical drama to me,” He mumbled and watched the tense couple disappear. “Back to my main point, lots of vibes. Because everyone has them. Including you, little miss sunshine.”
An exasperated, playful sigh left his lips while he crossed his arms. “We’re back to the silly? You’re silly, I’m not silly, and you have no proof.” Daehyun grumbled and scowled like a child at his new nickname. “I’m glad that you thought so intensely about.. my nickname.” Was his deadpanned reply. He hissed and jolted when he accidentally pressed down too hard on the burnt skin. Despite the pain, the platinum blonde resumed picking at the skin gingerly. “Why don’t I care what other people think?” Daehyun perked up at her words. It left him wondering yet again if the woman was naturally this wise or if it was from personal experience. At the end of the little lecture, the guard brought his hands up playfully and did a slow clap. “Have you ever thought about being one of those public speakers? It’s like you’re inspirational.”
And so comes to crash, Daehyun singsonged in his thoughts with an impish smile on his face. A tired Soyeon is an amusing one, indeed. His walking pace slowed down to match hers. “Ha, I’ll carry you if you faint. I’m just wondering if you wanted a cab to get back.”
When Daehyun was asked about why he wears a mask.
Doesn’t say a word, gets up and leave like a boss.
